Classic Scrambles of the Lake District

Scrambling is a fantastic activity involving the ascent of mountains using a combination of climbing and walking techniques. We avoid the busy routes into the mountains by using more technical and less accessible approaches. This exciting activity adds a new dimension to mountain walking with many famous routes used to see some of the best views in the Lake District. We run a number of 'classic' guided scrambling courses throughout the year in the Lake District ideal for small groups. From the well known Pinnacle Ridge on St Sunday Crag to the West Ridge of Pike of Stickle, we offer a route to suit all levels.

Whether you have a classic scramble you've always wanted to do or just want to try out this exciting way to see the Lake District's mountains, our guides will give you a great experience. If you want to learn how to use ropes to safeguard future explorations and open up a whole new dimension to your trips in the mountains, this is the course for you. Ideally candidates should be reasonably fit to cope with the strains of the day(s). You will have most likely completed a number of walking routes in mountainous terrain. This course would suit those people who want to boost their confidence in a steeper mountainous environment.
